Assessment DescriptionThis assessment is a group or individual assessment. Students will write a report to apply their learning of various operational management theories and reflect the use of the theory in different organizations’ operational process.
Content:
Identify an organization that you are familiar with and do the following:
  • Give a brief introduction of the organization’s business
  • Choose any two concepts from the following:

  • Operation’s Performance
  • Process Design
  • Supply Network Design
  • Layout and Flow
  • Process Technology
  • Inventory Management

  • Explain the concept of total quality control and discuss if the chosen organisation follows it.
  • Identify the ideal practices of your chosen concept. i.e.-How the operation’s performance can be measured in 3 levels.
  • Evaluate your chosen company’s performance in comparison to the ideal practices that you have learned from the above theories (your selected two theories)

Special consideration

  • Students whose ability to submit or attend an assessment item is affected by sickness, misadventure or other circumstances beyond their control, may be eligible for special consideration. No consideration is given when the condition or event is unrelated to the student's performance in a component of the assessment, or when it is considered not to be serious.
