You have been working with a client on their options in migrating their infrastructure to the cloud. The client’s plan is to initially create a testing environment before the full migration of their entire infrastructure. You have created the following network design and the client has agreed to deploy it on Microsoft Azure cloud.

Azure Solution details

Azure Solution details

Virtual Network

As shown in figure 1, all resources for the azure solution are placed in a resource group. There is one virtual network which consists of two private subnets. Each subnet has a virtual machine, these are titled VM1 and VM2. Both machines are running Microsoft Windows Server 2016 operating system. The machines can be accessed remotely using a Remote Desktop session (RDP).

Installation details:

  • Virtual network name:CFX-Your Last Name-VN (for example CFX-Mayahi-VN)
  • Address space:10.0.0.0/16
  • Resource group name: CFX-Your Last Name-RG

Virtual Machines VM1

VM1 will assume the role of a Domain Controller. This requires the installation of the appropriate server roles and features. VM1 must be within PrivateSubnet1 and it will imitate client’s on premises Domain Controller.

The IP address that will be assigned to this machine should be static. All internal name resolutions requests must go through VM1. All other DNS requests should be handled by azure DNS services.

Installation details:

  • Name: CFX-Your Last Name-VM1
  • Size: Select a suitable size
  • Admin account
    • Username: Your first name
    • Password: choose a secure password
  • Domain Name: your last name.local
  • DNS: Active directory integrated zone

VM2

The second VM must be within PrivateSubnet2 and it will join the domain as a member server. The IP address that will be assigned to this machine should be static.

VM2 details:

  • Name: CFX-Your Last Name -SRV1
  • Size: Select a suitable size
  • Admin account
    • Username: Your first name
    • Password: choose a secure password
  • Domain Name: your last name.local(for example mayahi.local)

Tasks

The following tasks requires you to capture the necessary screenshots as an evidence of your Azure solution as detailed above. Ensure the captured screenshots are full screen, have good quality where it clearly provides the information needed.

Task 1

Take a screenshot of the Resource group created on Azure platform. The screenshot should depict all resources used in your azure deployment.

Task 2

Take screenshots of the virtual network subnets, DNS servers, connected devices and the network topology. (4 screenshots in total)

Task 4

Take the necessary screenshots indicating the installation requirements for VM1. This includes Networking, Size, and Overview sections on Azure platform. (3 screenshots in total)

Task 5

Take the necessary screenshots indicating the Installation requirements for VM2. This includes Networking, Size, and Overview sections on Azure platform. (3 screenshots in total)

Task 6

Using RDP connect to VM1. After logging in provide screenshots of the Server roles and the fully qualified domain name for VM1. (2 screenshots in total)
