According to MacNeela et al. (2016), it is an intent for focusing over the practical applications regarding the ethics in the process of decision-making, hence, it is important for starting via creating some clarifying the distinctions for facilitating the purpose of decision-making. Hence, with respect to Toyota hit by cyber-attack, the ability/capacity for deciding that whether the ethical issue faced by Toyota need to be taken into account of consideration states that the management of Toyota has yet not been able for investigating the real culprit, who has carried out the concerned attack. In addition, the thought process utilized for deciding states that the threat has been managed by the IT department of Toyota, who has been working closely with the international experts of cyber security for getting the systems-up along with running again. Furthermore, the decision outcomes, which need to come from the exercising judgment, at the stage of results to be delivered, the Toyota Company still believes that no private data of either the employee or the customer has been hacked/accessed; however, the management could not give any prove yet. However, for making an individual-ethical judgement, it is important to include the psychological processes such as moral-character or actions, moral-focus or motivation, moral judgment or reasoning and moral-sensitivity or recognition stated by (Suki and Suki, 2017). Moreover, ethical judgement made by an individual always vary from the judgments made by others, however, ethical judgement could influence the others.

Hence, in relation to Toyota Company, a moral sensitivity state that contacts page of Toyota has been replaced with a displayed message reflecting that the parts of Toyota’s online systems are under maintenance”. Hence, the intention of doing this that is to replace the “contacts page of Toyota” with an intended message is to divert the customers from checking their information or contacting the company’s customer support executive team. Moral judgment regarding the case is that the Toyota Company has shown negligence with respect to their technical difficulties that they have been recently experiencing. Hence, this negligence would have carried out the cyber-attack onto the email and other online systems of Toyota. However, moral focus that the “Toyota hit by cyber-attack” reflects the fact that the technical difficulties faced by Toyota Company have been affecting their “Guest Experience Centre”, along with their website, toyota.com.au. Thus, as an outcome, this company has currently been unreachable via email or phone that leads the concerned company at such stake, where, they are about to lose the loyalty and trust of their potential customers (Hammer, 2018). Hence, the relative action from customers’ perspective is to visit the head office of Toyota Company and from Toyotas’ perspective, they need to offer each assistances to the Toyota along with their cyber security based services.

Provide an outline of the respective ethical moral philosophies

In accordance with Hausman et al. (2016), moral philosophy refers to a branch of philosophy, which involves systematizing, defending along with recommending the concepts associated with wrong and right behaviour/conduct. Hence, with respect to the concerned case, it is identified that the company’s actions by not responding via phone or even email seems to be a wrong conduct from the perspective of their customers. In addition to it, customers could not take Toyota Company entirely wrong, as the company has been able for reaching the experience centre of the company by the phone as company has been suggesting their customers that some of their systems are either being recovered or have further been removed as the key-precautions. In accordance with Schmidt (2016), moral philosophy explores the morality’s nature and the moral philosophy further examines how the people need to live their lives with respect to others. In addition to the concerned case of Toyota Company, Meta ethics reflect that ‘cyber-attack carried out onto the online systems and email systems of Toyota Company, justice is to ensure the customers that their confidential data shared with Toyota Company have not been misused. Truth has not been presented yet, however, company suggesting their customers to contact experience centre via phone. Lastly, beliefs state that Company must use “the data centres or cloud platforms” of Datacom. Normative ethics is the steps that the customers or the victims need to carry out against any breach or threat offered to them. Applied ethics suggest the customers to ask financial penalty from the concerned company if the customers needed to bear any financial loss in the concerned attack (Kant, 2015).

After analysing the entire case of cyber-attack that harshly hit the email along with online systems of “Toyota Company”, it can be concluded that investigation team of the concerned company yet could not reach the source from which the attack is carried out. As the attack tries to mislead the customers by reflecting the intended message, hence, it is for sure that the attackers would have definitely misused the information and details of the employee along with the customers.
