Assessment type: Individual Report. Individual case study assignment (1,500 words).

Purpose: Provide an opportunity to students to explore the contributions of BI application to society and/or business. Students are required to write cases. This assessment contributes to learning outcomes b and c.

Submission requirements details: All work must be submitted on Moodle by the due date. Reference sources must be cited in the text of the report, and listed appropriately at the end in a reference list using Harvard Anglia referencing style.

Assessment topic: Digital Transformation and how enterprise needs to react to it.

Task details: Today organization must be innovative and leverage the latest technologies simply to stay in business. Technology being a major driver in any business today, companies are struggling to integrate technology effectively will eventually find it difficult to succeed or even sustain their place in the marketplace. Connected devices, social media, and massive volumes of several forms of structured and unstructured data feeds have paved the way to further leverage technology and transform businesses. Digital transformation, which includes artificial intelligence, Big Data analytics, Internet of Things, and other emerging technologies, is fast becoming a key requirement for organizations to be innovative and remain competitive. Digital has opened doors for better analytics and decision-making, leading enterprises to explore, analyse, and obtain new insights and ideas to grow their business. Offering a mature collection of services, tools, and security, the cloud/IoT is an ideal platform for any business developing a digital transformation strategy.

With reference to the above context write a report on how the digital transformation such as Cloud Computing and IoT and/or other emerging technologies are becoming a choice of business organizations for their strategies, business models and the enterprise systems.
