Self- Reflective Personality Essay
Introduction
The main aim of the essay is to conduct self-reflection on own personality and behavioral traits and consequently critically assess the gathered information. The essay will focus on evaluating the perceptions of the other individuals closely associated with me about my different attitudes and personality features and compare with my opinion about my own personality. Johari window will be used to identify and understand various aspects of my behavior. According to Saxena (2015), Johari window is a tool used to give clear view of relationship of the individuals with self and other persons. The analytical technique is used in companies and self-group assessments as a heuristic exercise. In this reflective essay, Johari window will enlighten and enrich my understanding about myself as perceived by self and other people.
Critical examination of personality aspects
Johari window was postulated by Joseph Luft and Harrington Ingham in order to understand the psychological relationship with the person itself and other people. The analytical tool is excessively used in the corporates and multinationals to obtain better personality view of the employees and their relations with the colleagues. The technique is popular and widely used because it creates self-awareness, increases group dynamics, improves communication among the employees, personal development, enhances inter group relationships, team building and develops interpersonal relationships (Khatoon, 2018). Johari window is classified into 4 quadrants that are defined by 4 different variables, viz known to self, not known to self, known to others and not known to others. Arena identifies those personality traits that are known to both self and others, whereas faced classifies those characteristics, which are known to self but hidden from the other individuals. Blind spot recognizes those features of the behavior that other individuals know about us but we do not identify them. Unknown area classifies the traits that are hidden both from self and others (Ramani et al. 2017).

GEIT test is used for assessing the personality and skills of the individuals on the aspect of their emotional intelligence (Perreault et al. 2014). Based on the analysis conducted through GEIT, I have identified my own strengths and weak areas, where I can work on in order to be more competent for an international organization. The variables measured by GEIT assessment are self-awareness, social-awareness, relationship management and self-management skills.

Due to massive globalization, individuals around the world are travelling beyond their national boundaries for better job opportunities. The international companies hire and employ workers all over the world, thereby giving rise to diverse cultural working environment. Moreover, the global companies operate and negotiate with foreign clients, consequently making the business environ complex and necessitating to develop skills to successfully function in the diverse culture (Podsiadlowski et al., 2013). From the GEIT analysis, it is evident that I empathize less and have lower self-awareness skills, which will affect my progress in an international firms. In order to fit properly in a global company I need to develop the skills of social and self-awareness. The outcome of GEIT highlighted that I need to understand the implications of my action in organization and thereby make decisions judiciously. Besides, as the colleagues and clients belong to various cultural background, I should improve my empathetic behavior for better team bonding.
Conclusion
The essay aimed at identifying my strengths and weakness in order to help me to develop the necessary skillset to work proficiently in global organization. Johari window analysis was done, where two of my friends were consulted and their responses were compared with my own perception about self. Furthermore, GEIT was done to identify my areas of weakness and strength. From the above analysis, I can conclude that I need to improve my social and self-awareness skills to align properly in a global organization.
