Introduction

The tourism activity associated with social, cultural, economic dimensions gradually increased in developing countries around the world. ‘Special interest tourism’ is the unit content which reflects the continuously developing of the leisure interests among the people of late-modern society. It is the customized form of tourism activities that provide specific opportunities to individuals. The ‘special interest tourism’ mainly consists of four experiences including rewarding, enriching, adventure, and the learning experience.

The tourism manager understands the reason behind the traveling of a person as well as a group of people. Thus they designed a special package of services which fulfill the reason for traveling of the people. The ‘special interest tourism’ is consisting of these several design packages. Some major factors enhance the growth of special interest tourism such as transport evolution in terms of technical development, diversification in markets, developing the scale of attraction in the destination place as well as infrastructural improvement of the tourism industry.

 Discussion

Tourism provides a huge scale of opportunities for economic and regional development of a country including infrastructure improvement, transport, and bank services and gives opportunities for new investment to regional communities. However, some social changes have been required to enhance the special interest tourism sector (SIT). The main objective of ‘special interest tourism’ that counter-point to mass tourism activities including recreational and leisure experiences in terms of specific interests of the people (Bulatović et al. 2017). It meets the basic needs and motivation of individuals as well as it provides a huge scale of opportunities to the tourists regarding tourism activities. The ‘special interest tourism’ has been classified into eight categories including active, social, educational, discovery, hobbies, challenges, relaxation, and health therapy (Cicero, 2018). The sports, cycling, hiking purpose tourism are consist of an active, single trip or any tours organizing by youth people are consist of social. Educational purpose tourism is organized by the authorities of academic places whereas the trekking, adventures are consisting of the challenge and excitement of ‘special interest tourism’.

The demographic changes have a major role in the tourism sector which provides many important opportunities related to tourism activities (Dagustani et al. 2017). This demographic change examines the development and marketing procedure of the product by destinations and the special interest tourism sector. The two types of demographic changes including developing life expectancy and urbanization are important for enhancing the tourism sector. These changes keep the impact on the type of tourists in terms of their traveling information including their hometown and destination, and the types of basic needs they require during tour session such as accommodation facilities (Gountas & Gountas, 2015).

The demographic change in terms of developing the life expectancy is very important for the local people in the tourism industry as well as the tourist people. The quality lifestyles of both tourist and the local people keep the impact on the tourism sector. Most of the tourists come from different regions around the world with different lifestyles and different values. The demographic change provides an effective analysis of developing life expectancy. Thus they spend a lot amount of money on their tour purpose to consume pleasure and entertainment (Liasidou, 2018). This factor affected the local people and they want to follow the lifestyle of tourists.

These changes have an impact on the demand of the tourism sector and the overall travel experience for both the company and the tourists. It analyzes the performance level of the tourism sector that how they maintain their business position in the competitive market. The choice of destination depends on the development of the region and infrastructure of markets (Negrusa et al. 2015). The world’s human population has been increasing day by day which is the main reason behind the tourism demand of the people and this demographic change helps to the management of special interest tourism sector by showing their position in the competitive marketplace. These demographic changes motivate the tourist by externally including money and their basic needs to feel comfortable on the scale of the special tourism performance (Parra-López & Martínez-González, 2018).

The tourism urbanization represents the development of an entire town and cities within a country for pleasure. The main focus of the fastest developing cities is to build a proper environment for pleasure which attracted the tourists. The consumption of water and excessive population, and the important resource of urban settlements affected the special interest tourism sectors. The growth of urban areas is closely related to the tourism industries. It is important to understand the environment as well as the people with each other in special interest tourism sector. It enhances the development of the urbanization and development of the human-environment relationship (Young, Witsel & Boyle, 2017). The tourist of the special interest tourism sector is getting influenced by different facilities provided by the organization.

The management of the special interest tourism sector needs to build its organizational infrastructure properly which provides several benefits to the consumers and the tourists. They can provide a luxury hotel in terms of accommodation facilities for the tourists where the participants of special interest tourism can get all facilities regarding their basic needs including food, lodging, and other leisure activities. This architecture helps the organization to develop the urbanization of the region where the destination has been placed. Tourists are attracted to this type of facilities provided by the company. It helps the management of the tourism sector to improve the economic growth of the company as well as the local people of such destination. The company needs to provide holiday satisfaction to its tourists by providing desirable opportunities and facilities in tourism activities (Zbuchea, 2015). The quality of interaction to the human, development of the environmental attractions and the perceptive values of the tourist regarding their tourism experience are the major three factors which enhance the tourism satisfaction level of the tourists with their city destination.

People can motivate and attracted with these facilities regarding their holiday package provided by the special interest tourism sector (Zuzic, 2016). The effective quality of the social interaction of the tourist among each other and the high quality of environment and infrastructure of the destination place gives opportunities to the tourists very positively, which in turn helps to develop and improve the special interest tourism sector.

Conclusion

It is very important to maintain the relationship between the interactions of individual tourists with multiple external factors. From the above study, it can be concluded that the special interest tourism consumes the individuals experience related to the socio-cultural and demographic environments. It creates a positive engagement with the community of the destination region. The key factors regarding the growth of special interest tourism sector have been discussed briefly. It denotes the important structural point to the management of the tourism sector to fulfill the tourist satisfaction. The risk of management, cancellation of the trips, environmental issues, economic issues, and the socio-cultural issues are act as a main challenge of each category of special interest tourism sector. The management of the tourism company needs to change some social and demographical factors to resolving these challenges by providing effective security for the tourists and maintain the service quality in terms of an emergency. Thus the economic development, urbanization, and infrastructure development is very essential for the special interest tourism sector.
