Executive summary

The following report gives a gross description of the report gives a clear evaluation of the cause and the effects of obesity in the Australian youth population. This modern world advancement is leading to the rise of comfort and luxuries. As a consequence, the lifestyles of human beings are prone to obesity and overweight issues. The study describes the ongoing statistics of Australian youths. The effects of obesity are also described. Some recommendation is also brief to reduce the ill effects of obesity. A research study is developed by the researcher to conduct a live interview with the respondents. The respondents will be 10 in number and they will be the Australian youths who are suffering from obesity. This help to design the overall evaluation of the present condition of obesity and overweight in the demography of the Australian youth.

Introduction

This modern world advancement is leading to the rise of comforts and luxuries. As a consequence, the lifestyles of human beings are prone to obesity and overweight issues. The nation named Australia is considered for the analysis of obesity in the younger generations. The World Health Organization (WHO) has discovered a rise in the level of obesity and overweight in the population of Australia. The current population of Australia is calculated to be 25 million World Population Review (2019). The metropolitan areas of Australia are more prone to issues related to overweight and obesity.

The renowned doctor Mr Lynelle Moon has stated that Obesity is the real fundamental cause for the rise of chronic health problems (Aihw, 2020). The younger generations of Australia are more prone to the risk factor of obesity and overweight. The issues of obesity gave increment to the many threatened diseases like type 2 disease, musculoskeletal disease, cardiovascular disease etc (Steele et al, 2020). The rise of the body is the main cause of these health issues. There is also an increase in the rise in weight loss surgery in Australia in recent decades.

The factors which cause obesity are the condition of the food and nutritional habits, lack of physical activity, sedentary behaviour and comfort full environment. The females of this younger generation sometimes get overweight during the time of pregnancies (Yang et al, 2018). The proper maintaining of the Body Mass Index (BMI) is essential for every Human being to reduce the issues related to overweight and obesity. The BMI ratio is calculated on the scale of the individual's height with respect to the bodyweight of that individual (Ranzcog, 2020). Obesity can be reduced by proper exercises and food habits. The physical activity must be increased through an exercise to minimize the fat deposit in the body. Consequently, the changes in daily life through proper balance inactivity and diet can help the upcoming generations to resist obesity and overweight problems (Daa, 2020). This research will explore the various factor that is related to obesity in the young generation and will also try to find a possible strategy to reduce it down by conducting the qualitative survey.

Background Study

The lack of physical activities in daily lives is the significant causes of the problems related to obesity and overweight. The modernization has resulted in imbalance in their daily lives. The indulgences to junk foods and drinking habits are also leading to overweight issues (Opc, 2020). A proper and balanced schedule must be maintained in the respect of diet and activities to reduce the fat deposits in the body. The Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW) has concluded a significant rise of overweight problems among the younger generations of the Australian population (AIHW, 2020).

The AIHW has published a report on the title of “Overweight and obesity in Australia: a birth cohort analysis”. This report states that the obesity and overweight of human beings are related to the birth year (Aihw, 2020). It also said that the rise in overweight and obesity is more prone to new generations. Historical information is analyzed in this report and it gives a milestone. The milestone is based on the display of the increment of obesity in the newly born individuals compared to the older ones. The report also significantly displays the current state and environment of the obesity problems in the Australian youth.

The Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW) is concerned about the issues of obesity in Australian youths. The Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW) spokesperson Dr Moon has said there is an increment in obesity from the younger generations of 20 years. This is concluded on the demographic study of the years of 204 to 2015. The people and individuals being born in the decades of 1990 had only 15% obsessed cases. In recent years obesity has increased at a double rate in recent decades. The younger generation from the age of 18 to 21 is prone to the issues of being overweight due to lack of physical activities (Aihw, 2020). In this modern generation, the rise of computerized gaming gadgets has also resulted in a decrement in physical activity and it leads to obesity. The smaller generation of 2 to 5 years of age in the Australian population displays 9% obesity cases. It is an increased display in relativity to the earlier decades where the rate of obesity cases is 4%. It can be said that Obesity is the real fundamental cause for the rise of chronic health problems. The younger generations of Australia are more prone to the risk factor of obesity and overweight.

The report has a second part and it describes the information of the comprehensive evaluation of the overweight cases in Australian youths. The study from 2015 to 205 has displayed that 63% of the Australian adult population is suffering from obesity and when it is compared to the decades of 1990 the cases are 57% (Aihw, 2020). Consequently, it displays the rise in obesity and overweight problems. This report also describes the threats of obesity on the basis of the variations in different individual’s scenarios. The economic condition also monitors the level of obesity in Australian society. As the individuals of minimum economic groups and those living in the outskirts are sometimes prone to obesity and overweight issues. Australian indigenous are more prone to overweight and obesity due to imbalance lifestyles and economic conditions. The financial expenditure for both government and individuals on the risk of obesity problems has risen to 8.6 Billion dollars in the year 20011 to (Aihw, 2020). Proper maintenance of lifestyles is the significant way for the Australian youths and children to fight and reduce the risks and threats of obesity and overweight. The proper following participation of different kinds of sports, outdoor games and other physical activities can reduce the threats of obesity. The balanced diet is to be properly maintained and followed among the Australian youths and children. The parents of this generation can provide better scheduling to bring balance in lifestyles (Opc, 2020). The consumption of greasy and junk food must be reduced by youths and children to avoid the harmful consequences of obesity and overweight (Daa, 2020)

Research Questions

In this project, the study describes some questions based on the evaluation and effects of the overweight and obesity in the younger generation of the demography of Australia. The questions are used to design and gather information and data on the context of overweight and obesity problems. The negative consequences of overweight and obesity are also described.

Study Design

The qualitative approach is to be used for the gathering and accumulation of data and information. The research is based on the evaluation and effects of overweight and obesity in the younger generation of the demography of Australia. This provides to develop research on the demography of Australia. The health issues and other negative effects of obesity and overweight are also described. The rise of obesity in the younger generation in recent centuries is the result of a lack of physical activity and over-nutrition. Depth of information is highlighted using a qualitative approach to find some ways to reduce the increment of obesity and overweight in Austrian youths.

Study population and sampling

For collecting the data researcher will select 10 participants in number. The respondents of this research will be the Australian youth of age 18 to 25. They are the potential suffers from overweight and obesity. The researcher will use the interview method to gather information from the respondents. The tape recorder will be used for the recording of the questions and responses. The interview rounds will be conducted by the researcher. There will be a front to front communication among the researcher and respondents in the interview. The interview rounds will be carried for 10 minutes for each respondent. The cause and effects of obesity and overweight problems will be discussed among the researcher and respondents.

Data gathering

In the process of the interview, the researcher will develop a set of 10 questions to ask and discuss with the respondents. The main context of the questions is on the cause and effects of obesity and overweight in Australian youths. The questions will help the researcher to produce some conclusions on the mentioned topic. It will also help the researcher to set a proper uniformity with respondents.

The questions in the interview session are based on the topic of obesity and overweight in the present Australian youths. The specific areas in which the questions will be discussed are four in number. The first one is the sociological and economical background of the respondents. The next one is the dietary and fooding habits of the respondents. The interview will reveal a real-world issue regarding obesity and as the respondents will be the obesity suffered people, the interview will deduce depth information to explore the impact and helps in making the viable strategy.

Reflection

Obesity and overweight is a significant concern for health issues to be discussed and analysed. In the Australian population, the rate of obesity and overweight is increasing at a rapid velocity. As per my thinking, the younger generations due to lack of physical activities and improper lifestyles are falling under the scale of overweight and obesity. The issues of obesity gave increment to the many threatened diseases like type 2 disease, musculoskeletal disease, cardiovascular disease etc. The rise of the body is the main cause of these health issues. I think proper maintenance of lifestyles is the significant way for the Australian youths and children to fight and reduce the risks and threats of obesity and overweight. The parents of this generation can provide better scheduling to bring balance in lifestyles.

Conclusion

The report gives a clear evaluation of the cause and the effects of obesity in the Australian youth population. This modern world advancement is leading to the rise of comfortless and luxuries. As a consequence, the lifestyles of human beings are prone to obesity and overweight issues. The study describes the ongoing statistics of Australian youths. The researcher will use an interview method with respondents and the respondents are Australian youths. It has been discovered an increment in the level of obesity and overweight in the Australian youth population. Obesity can be reduced by proper exercises and food habits. Consequently, the changes in daily life through proper balance inactivity and diet can help the upcoming generations to resist obesity and overweight problems.
