Trauma
Introduction
Within the families, the fear of rejection by parents is one of the worrisome causes for the children. The neural response of child maltreatment can be observed through the social rejection faced while maltreating any individuals. From the extensive researches, it has been observed, that the rejection of not getting any response, support in mental, emotional and physical, can be exhausting and can cause abuse and neglect over the neural responses to the children (Polak, 2019). The same support if extended by the strangers plays a vital role in shaping up the mental and emotional thoughts of the child mindset. Through this assignment, the purpose is to understand the abuse, stress, and trauma which the child experiences and how to apprise intervention that can help resolve the situation.
Trauma
Trauma is defined as the traumatic event which is linked to the major causes of physical, emotional and getting affected due to the spiritual or psychological harm. Due to the trauma, the experience is the distressing event and it can further threaten, make the individuals feel anxious and can even make them feel threatened. The trauma can cause how one can respond and can also relate to the case of denial due to the cause of effect during such an event (Nguyen-Feng, 2019). During the traumatic situation, the child or the adults do need time to recover mental and emotional support to overcome the traumatic event. By definition, an individual experiences a negative event that can hurt the victim's mental along with emotional stability. It can eventually lead to the life-changing event and can further create a psychological impact
Trauma Causes
Death of close ones
The death of the closed ones or a sudden demise can create a traumatic impact on the individual.
Violence
Any rage, riots and experiencing sudden violence can cause sudden physical pain or injury to the mental health of an individual. It can cause serious illness, facing war or experiencing any sort of threats
Sexual harassment and Abuses
Due to the constant harassment and facing abuses can also lead to trauma. Instances such as the parental abandonment, experiencing a close death encounter, being a rape survivor or experiencing domestic abuse, can be some of the causes affecting the individuals (Mota 2019).
Domestic Issues
Any incident involving domestic violence or violent abuse can affect the relationship between family members. Domestic violence is one of the traumatic experience that can affect the mental state of the individual.
Major Illness
Post-traumatic stress disorder and a constant state of the mental condition can also impact the individual witnessing the act. It can cause an unwarranted experience and a shocking event for the individual to remember, along with experiencing anxiety and sudden flashbacks.
Effects of Trauma
A traumatic experience, in children, can cause the mental and emotional drain for life long. It can further cause the issue of the sustainable issues in facing trauma, which can cause vulnerability trauma and can further cause exploitation of the emotional well-being (Sanz-Martin, 2019).
While adults can respond to traumatic events in different ways (McGregor, 2019), but for the children, it can further exploit their neural and psychological event changes. It can cause the case of constant shock and denial and lead to the major cause of the normal reaction. Once the traumatic experience is encountered, it can lead to constant irritability, experiencing sudden or dramatic mood changes, which can cause constant anger, denial and also can lead to depression.
Once a traumatic experience is encountered it leads to post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and it can create a close experience to the rapid life-threatening event or even lead to witnessing a death. It can further cause the anxiety disorder which can impact the stress hormones and further cause a body’s response to stress. It is evident, that people who have experienced a traumatic episode often need strong social support and having ongoing therapy. PTSD can create an illusion in the minds of the individual and it can be intense physical along with the emotional response that can be the point of remembrance as the event. It can have a long-lasting event and substantially it can lead to the traumatic event creating an illusion and impacts. Due to the history of the trauma, it can further cause changes in the physical, genetic, and experiencing psychological, and social factors that can play a vital role in impacting the PTSD.
From the children's point of view, the Irish government has been supportive of children and youth and provides an extensive current child welfare system. It can help in defining the changes and can be helpful to promote the value of learning. The programs are defined as the cause of the intervention as experienced within the family support and also can lead to child protection (MacEachern, 2019). To bridge the gap between the parent and the child, there were traditional models, as per the set ideologies of reorienting the beliefs in cultures and political climates.
Intervention For Trauma
Within the child welfare and the family support programs, the legislation to protect the child is done through the State the 1991 Child Care Act and it has also been representing the landmark in the history of the children’s services within Ireland. It is the Act (currently in use) that has helped to ensure and provide the best interest to the children that can help to grow and provide a better platform for the home. Through the Act, it can further place a statutory duty on Health boards and can help to identify and promote the welfare of children who do not receive any emptional and the related support of the protection from the support services (Clifford, 2019).
Families
At the individual level, qualification can extensively be provided through the Central Council for Education and Training are part of the Social Work (of the UK) to provide the social worker, training and guidance to the families and the children at the individual level. It has been part of the social work under the National Social Work Qualifications Board (NQSWB) that has taken place under the CORU, Ireland's is also considered to be one of the health regulators and within the social care education, it has also been accredited to the social work, having the course of the training and redefining the education structure. It has become extensively part of the registered profession that ensures that the worker and the child care policies are interlinked to provide the course of direction to the Individuals set up (Carter, 2019). Further, as per the Child Care Act in 1991, it is important that the social work is being handled by the professionals who can aid and provide direction to the specific cause and regulate through the child protection system. Due to the social worker's enactment, there can be the major dimensions that can compromise the statutory services and relate with the services for the child protection’. From the framework of the child welfare can be classified within the terms of protection services along with engaging the support or care services (Clifford, 2019). As identified, how there can be two main orientations of child welfare services that can help to redefine the family support and child protection. As obligated there can also be a child development and the extensive children’s rights that can create a different engagement and attributes to the systems too starkly. From the support system of the model, there is limited family support, having limited child protection along with the child-centered approaches.
Parenting program
Families have the major role to play a supportive system for child abuse and the related traumatic experience. Odyssey- Parenting your teen can help to build a healthy relationship between the adolescents and between the parent. As observed, how there can be a co-operation existing in between the diverse mix of statutory along with having the voluntary inter-disciplinary provision. To further understand how there can be active involvement in between the engagement, support, and also providing the protection and regulation of children and families, it can help to redefine the practice existing in between the support and protection. Walking on Eggshells is another program, that helps the parent to know the negative effects of the child. Further, it can also involve the extensive practitioners that can work across the irrespective of disciplinary origin or have the redefined roles and position which are linked to the thresholds of need or service provision (Bailey 2019). The program is to ensure to protect the histories of child protection and also create an extensive family support system that can help to redefine the commonalities practices. Parenting apart can help the parent to understand negative effects over the child due to the separation and anxiety. It involves the two practices, such as using the two historical studies, being able to provide one family support and at the same time being able to provide child protection and create extended integrated elements for the family support and child protection. Keeping your cool is another program to help understand the importance of having a healthy relationship with the parents. The practitioners should be able to get a stronger sense of development that can help to shape up the present. It would help to enable the comprehension context that can link in between the ‘protection’ and ‘support’ to negotiate and provide the operating vacuum of a present. Star program helps to open the parent communication with the children. It is a reference attributed to the need for students and practitioners which can help to redefine the family support and child protection with practice, having the active policy engagements and relating it with the organizational level with the help of the well-informed knowledge to create a present context. Through the major child welfare systems change it can further bring a rapid change within the Republic of Ireland and can help in exploring the independent Child and Family Agency, Tusla. The agency was established in 2014, with the sole purpose of providing child protection and welfare services, that can further redefine the health and social service within the statutory model of provision. As the agency is known as the independent statutory authority it can be oriented through the board approach and can create a reorientation towards the child welfare services that can be delivered with the preventative and early intervention capacity of the system. It is also one of the strategies that can help to redefine the relationship existing in between the protective, preventative along with support services that can bring a change in Ireland. It even has a relevant context to the national attributes and form the framework of the many systems it can bring the changes to fix the ‘fault line’ in children and families services which can be gainful to control the “tension existing in between the ‘front-end’, possibility of the preventative services along with having the ‘deep-end’ highly intensive treatment services which can create a dichotomies to create and perpetuate (Lotzin, 2019).
The family has to engage in the child protection social worker and also get training to provide family support. As per the enactment of the Child Care Act, there can also be extensive new Child and Family Agency that can help to redefine the future.
Marte Meo, Buckley’s assessment framework and family support services
As per the Marte Meo, Buckley's framework due to the early attachment it can further create a healthy start in life and provide more guidance to the children and families. Due to the extensive attachment, it can further lead to the lack of contribution to the environment of trust and safety which can further lead to the promotion and achievement of personal, social along with redefining the professional relationships, that can help in providing the physical and psychological health (Carter, 2019). It would further help to define the parental responses to the child’s behavior and it can cause the issue of trust and empathy; which can help in creating her/his emotions. It can also create behavior influences which would further entitle to the subtleties that have been linked to the non-verbal and verbal communication. The Marte Meo Method has redefined the interaction within the daily situations that can exist between the parent and child, professional and parent. The entire focus has been on the method to identify, activate and be able to enhance constructive communication and can be helpful to redefine the interaction and development of the child, family and professional. The method is more focused on how to provide a range of therapies. Family system theories as introduced by the von Bertalanffy has helped to identify how in the organizational complexity of families, it can be helpful to provide the individual interactive patterns that can be explored. It is also the fundamental assumption underpinning family systems theories that can be linked to the holism.
The child support and the family welfare, the push-pull intervention existing in between the prevention and protection can further redefine the discussion. It is mainly focused on how to develop the social skills of the child and cooperation. Parents are taught to orient times and having ensured to provide corrective parent behavior. The techniques of the ‘reorientate’ and redefined behavioral techniques are taught for ongoing support. The model works for child protection which can correct the everyday practices existing in between the families and children (Hahn, 2019). Theory can be the further connection between reflective child protection and having the role of the risk management priorities and practices’. The parent's program is to teach the child orient towards the use of an intrusive, individualistic approach along with redefining the child welfare that helps to create structural factors and rectify the vulnerability within the children and their families. It can be contextual to represent the child protection and welfare services that can help to orient towards the practice and further help in providing the support and prevention that can ensure children are safe.
Conclusion
To conclude, how the child requires extensive support from the parents and the loved ones, but due to the increased cases of the trauma and the other instances, it can lead to problematic concerns. Due to the extensive government and acts such as the Child Care act and providing the extensive support system to the children, the role of the families and the individuals have to ensure that is providing a stronger sense of development that can help to shape up the present. From the framework of child welfare, it can be classified in the protection services along with engaging the support or care services. obligated there can also be a child development and the extensive children’s rights that can create a different engagement and attributes to the systems too starkly. From the support system of the model, there is limited family support, having limited child protection along with the child-centered approaches.
