In addition to that, the customers, suppliers, competitors, government as well as legal matters constitute a major part of the situational analysis for the firm. It may be stated that the clients or customers are major e-commerce companies in India, while the suppliers are the companies selling the goods since Delivery Care is chiefly a warehouse management company. The competitors in the Indian market have been identified as DTDC, Gati and more logistics companies. 2.0 Literature review

2.1 Use of ERP by Delivery Care to improve the operational functions

Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) has been established consists of the effectiveness of various tools and techniques such as the use of effective software, responsible for the systematic and is a well-organised operation in a business (Ross 2016). Figure 1 outlines the key features covered by ERP, which chiefly includes Human Resource management or HRM, financial management, Customer Relationship management, SCM as well as Manufacturing Resource management. There are various ERP software systems available today that can be useful for delivery care in order to manage their entire business operation in a new market of India such as Sage Intacct, Brightpearl, abas ERP, Paragon ERP, Ramco ERP on cloud and many more. Since Delivery Care is a supporting delivery system; thus, the company is not concerned with the aspects of manufacturing. Therefore the company focuses on the other factors of the ERP. As previously mentioned, Delivery Care aims at automating the overall operations; the use of ERP may be particularly beneficial and productive in these kinds of situations or organisations. These various components of the ERP should be properly implemented and used in the business operation of delivery care. The use of ERP system software at work can also help the company to reduce their expenses in the different business operational functions separately as it centralizes all these operational functions of the business management of the company to a single platform. The ERP system also improves the communication as all the necessary important data is available in single software which can be easily accessed by all the members of the business who are entitled to it whenever needed.

Role of ERP in business management

Figure 1: Role of ERP in business management

(Source: Tian & Xu 2015)

According to Nettsträter et al. (2015), ERP effectively helps to manage several business activities at a time along with automating multiple back-office processes involved with the business management of the firm. The integration of the major business management processes which are essential for operating the business successfully is integrated into a single system with the help of the ERP software (Tian & Xu 2015). Therefore, the implementation of ERP in the business management system of DeliveryCare can be quite beneficial for the company for managing the entire management system in a systematic way in the new as well as in the existing markets that the organisation operates its business in. The entire business operation of the company will be much simplified and easy to manage through the implementation of ERP. Moreover, it may be stated that ERP handles the data input as well as the analysis of the data. With the size of the inventory of a delivery system, the associated costs also increase according to the size of the inventory. The ERP system software at work can reduce the necessity of the big inventory sizes as it provides various inventory tracking systems along with different analysts who could help the company to keep track of the products they need to deliver. Various such technological tools as the biometric data system, RFID tags, geofencing and many more provided by the ERP software systems can enable the company to track their product through the entire journey starting from the receiving the packages from the e-commerce companies they are working with to the final point of delivering them to the customers. This is further facilitated by the deployment of the relevant activities involved in the management of the business operation, which is very crucial for the success of the e-commerce companies that the company will be working with as well as for the company itself (Tian & Xu 2015)

2.2 Role of the HR department to improve the operational functions

According to Chaffey & Ellis-Chadwick (2019), the recruitment, training and deployment of efficient individuals into the fundamental processes of a firm, may be regarded as the prime responsibilities of the HR department. Furthermore, through various aspects of the HR department, operation management may be affected as well. For instance, the up gradation of equipment and software may be effectively managed by efficient recruits of the company and can improve the productivity of the organization (Chaffey & Ellis-Chadwick 2019). Moreover, it is to be taken into account that the HR department is responsible for facilitating effective communications within the organization. Additionally, the different aspects of the training provided by the HR department of the company to the new recruits come directly under the supervision of the HR department itself, which may be a collaboration of the operations facility or department to manage the training of the employees (Clarke et al. 2016). Through the recruitment of the efficient and skilful employees to work and providing them with the necessary training in order to make them efficient for performing their assigned works, the HR department can improve the whole operational functions of DelivryCare.

HR managers should have to use various frameworks through which they can able to understand the training needs of the company. As the company is engaged in delivering the products to the consumer, employees need to learn a lot of things to fulfil customer demand. In India, the labours are much available and work in low salary. In such a situation, the HR of the company should have to identify the skilled employees for the operation of the companies (Strandberg 2017). Effective training and monitoring could help the employees to develop their skills, and in this sector, proper communicational skills and presentation skills are required. Employees must need to communicate with the consumers politely to maintain the customer, and for that, it is important to provide sufficient training to bring the fluency in the operation of the company.

2.3 Wrong delivery management is helping Delivery Care

Delivery management plays a critical role in the development of a company which aims at the successful operating of the company in the delivery system industry of the target markets. According to Cassidy (2016), it is often observed that the dissatisfaction created among the customers due to the inefficiency of the delivery system, improper handling and demonstrating a lack of time management, may be the cause of the downfall of a delivery company. Hence, using this particular drawback of major organizations, Delivery Care may undertake this important limitation and turn it into a competitive advantage for the firm in the respective markets.

In India, several issues have been raised already by numerous consumers that they are not getting their products on time, and sometimes they are getting the wrong products. These issues are continuously threatening the sector, and in such situation, delivery care needs to provide o time delivery to grab the market properly and to create the brand value in the competitive market. For this effective strategy should have to be taken (Cassidy 2016). Proper monitoring of the every day delivery list could be beneficial. The company can also message the employees regarding their delivery for the next day so that employees can make their own plan to deliver the products on time. Beside this first of all wrong delivery needs to be prevented by proper checking of the products and Delivery care should have to hire some executive who will take care of this delivery properly.

2.4Application of theories and frameworks to the situation

There are many theories and framework which can be discussed in this context to gain a practical understanding of the business of the delivery care. Resource-based theory, complexity theory and many more can be used here. Apart from that the framework like BMC, SWOT can also be discussed as a useful framework. SWOT analysis provides an insight into the strong features, as well as the limitations of the organisation, which may be useful for the development of appropriate strategies for the amendment of the same (Cadle et al. 2014). Moreover, a BMC analysis may be conducted for identifying the various aspects of the business. Furthermore, Porter’s five forces analysis may provide an idea of the competitors, as well as their aspects of operations, which may, in turn, provide Delivery Care with the opportunity of implementing a competitive advantage for its clients. Lastly, in order to evaluate the working conditions within the firm, Herzberg's Two-factor theory may be taken into account in terms of the organisation (Alshmemri et al. 2017)

Resource-based theory:

Resourced based theory is one of the significant theory that can be utilized to circulate the resources in an effective manner. This theory completely provides prior information regarding the available resource to the company which they can use to get competitive advantages in the market. Also, it helps in measuring the importance of the resource available by providing information about their value, imitability and many other factors. By utilizing this theory, the management can able to use the resources as per requirement (Alvarez & Barney 2017). Already various companies are enjoying the benefit of applying this theory in their organization. Same as if Delivery care implement this theory, then they could able to manage their resources. Side by side, they could understand the value of resources by measuring through the factors like value, rare, nonsubstitutable and how difficult to imitate.  All these elements of the theory provide a clear insight into the resources and company can also utilize it as per the value of the available resources.

Complexity theory:

This also a vital theory to improve the strategic management system, and it enables the organization to create a proper environment where the employees can work more freely. Also, by applying this theory, the company can enjoy the employees' engagement and managing the workforce properly (Battiston et al. 2016). Various companies in this sector have also applied this theory to get an effective workforce management process. If the Delivery care implemented this one, then it could enable them to manage the operation of the business as well as they could manage the inefficient workforce way. It is obvious that variety in operation provides various benefits to the organization, and for this complexity theory is much significant for Delivery care to introduce a new system in their operation.

SWOT analysis:

SWOT is an internal analysis that will help to understand the internal aspects and the functionalities of the organization. Based on that, the threats, opportunities for the organization can be derived. This analysis can help the organization to identify and mitigate the threats in a proper way and exploit the opportunity in a strategic way for the expansion of the business. A SWOT analysis will help Delivery Care to understand the threats and the opportunities that are present in the internal functionalities of the organization.

Strength
1. Company has already shared its services with big clients like Flipkart, Myntra.
2. Effective service and has its own warehouse.

Weaknesses
1. Price of their service could be the weaknesses. They charge a high price for the delivery system, which hinders the business.
1. Have the great opportunity to deal with other clients like Amazon India, Shop clues and more.1. Huge competition in the Indian market could be a threat to delivery care.

In order to understand the business situation and the condition, the cost-benefit analysis can be conducted in a proper way.  At the first step, brainstorming of the benefits and the respective costs for the benefits can be done. In this brainstorming process, all the stakeholders of the organizations are needed to participate. The identification of the functionalities those can be beneficial for the organization is needed to be understood. After that, the monetary value of the cost is needed to be assigned. This will help in making the budget for the total implementation.

After assigning the monetary value of the cost, the value of the benefits is needed to be implemented in terms of the business value. In this case, Delivery care can map the monetary cost into the business value of the benefits. The last stage in this analysis will consist of the comparison between the cost and the benefits.

It is recommended for the delivery care to measure the benefits in terms of cost. The measurement of the benefits is needed to be equal to the cost. In this way, the expansion of the business can be done strategically.
